To see one’s garbage scattered in the front yard for everyone’s view (and smell) is probably most embarrassing to any owner. How much more if the Fort Lauderdale sewer line suddenly leaks or bursts open?

The neighbors do not have to view what is coming out from the leakage as the stench could travel with the wind that enters the homes and establishments nearby. To say the least, even medium and small sewer line problems such as those that are within the confines of the home should be treated with utmost concern as it would still create a mess.

Sewer Line Troubles

Sewer line troubles could be one of the messiest situations in structural repairs. If possible this should be the least of all problems a household, commercial establishments or industrial building could ever have. This is the reason why only experts and possibly licensed contractors should handle installations of sewer lines. It is also best to maintain the same contractor to do the occasional maintenance work and sewer line repairs. However, there is no guarantee that the contractor who made a very good installation could be the best maintenance crew. It is the responsibility of the owner to find the best contractor to do the work, particularly sewer line repairs.

Since sewage line troubles are like emergency situations, the contractor should be able to reach the area like or faster than the 911 crew. They must be equipped like an ambulance, compete with machines to detect broken sewer lines, tools for digging, replacement materials such as quality pipes, sealants that will last the longest time, and the like. They should also be able to do the repairs within the least possible time. Since sewer lines should be in top shape, quality materials and labor should be the primary concern of every owner.

Sewer Line Repair Plumber

To find the best local plumber, if the owner chooses not to retain he contractor who installed his sewer pipes, he can browse the yellow pages, websites and local newspapers for advertisements and contact numbers. Many contractors have advanced their marketing strategies by uploading videos of their activities, just to give their prospective clients an extra glimpse of how they work. Most of the information given through the various media outlets, including the internet are reliable. Another effective way to find the right crew to do maintenance work and Fort Lauderdale sewer line repairs, is to ask the neighbors for recommendations.

Since there is a lot to choose from it is up to the owner to choose the best contractor who can serve the needs of his home or his investment.

Most plumbers would come into your home if you are experiencing clogged drains or odd smells or a backed up toilet and the first thing that they do, after they flush the toilet or run the sink, is to jam a plumbing snake down the drain and work it through the pipes. After all, wouldn’t these symptoms mean that you have a clog somewhere in the line?

Pipe Cleaning

It could, but it could also mean that there is a different problem potentially brewing. Corrosion occurs in all sewer lines through the natural course of time. No matter what kind of material is used, it is something that everyone will have to deal with. Sometimes a line is accidentally punctured by a drill or saw blade during renovation, or even construction. Sometimes a PVC pipe is crimped, restricting the flow of water and other matter through the line.

By calling a plumber in to clear the problem, they could spend hours at your house, ringing up an impressive bill for you before finally opening the line, but you will likely have to call on them again in a few months or so when the problem worsens.

Fort Lauderdale Pipe video inspection gets to the bottom of the problem, and then some

Video Pipe Inspection

Instead of calling a traditional plumber next time you have an issue, call on our pipe video inspection service. Not only will our cameras find the exact source of the problem, it will record video of the surrounding pipe to determine if there is an underlying cause of the clog. It may sound costly, but pipe video inspection is much more affordable than you may think.

Let’s put it this way, if your clog is not in the drain catch of the sink or right there at the toilet, then odds are there is something more going on than just a simple clog. Guessing at the problem and freeing the clog is only one minor step to complete correction. You can certainly ignore it, but if the pipe integrity is compromised or damaged in any way, at some time in the future, you may find yourself repairing more than just a clogged line.

Get a Fort Lauderdale pipe video inspection and get the peace of mind knowing that your sewer line is safe and secure. Your home, and your wallet, will thank you.

Tank type vs. Tankless Water Heaters
Know the Facts

•	Regardless of the type of water heater, it takes 1 BTU of heat to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree F.

•	Efficiency of each water heater unit determines savings.

•	Present day Electric Tank type water heaters are 90% – 94% efficient.

•	Present day Electric Tankless water heaters are 94% – 96% efficient.

•	Present day Gas Tank type water heaters are 60% – 65% efficient.

•	Present day Gas Tankless water heaters are 85% – 92% efficient.

•	The best savings one can expect when comparing both electric types is 6% on an average annual heating bill of $400.00 or $24.00 per year.

•	The best savings one can expect when comparing both gas types is 32% on an average annual heating bill of $400.00 or $128.00 per year.

•	An electric tankless water heater will always be more expensive to install. The units cost more, the installation is more involved, and two trades are required — a plumbing contractor and an electrician. Most gas-fired tankless water heaters have a special vent system. The units cannot connect to a type B vent.

•	There are benefits to both types of water heaters. Don’t select the water heater purely on the economics or energy savings of the water heater. Analyze the system installation, the application, space required, the fuel costs and the demand on the water heater. Using all of these parameters, decide what is best for the installation.

Hot water odors from your tank type water heater explained;

The water heater is equipped with magnesium or aluminum anode rod designed to prolong the life of the glass lined tank. The anode rod is slowly consumed, thereby eliminating or minimizing corrosion of the glass lined tank, and much like the zinc or magnesium plate on an outboard motor protects the aluminum motor from corrosion.

Water sometimes contains a high sulfate and/or mineral content and together with cathodic protection process can produce a hydrogen sulfide, or rotten egg odor in the heated water. Replacement of the Anode rod and chlorination of the water supply should minimize the problem.
